The 2024 Understanding China International Conference is held in Guangzhou from Dec. 2 to Dec. 4. During the conference, Wang Wen, Dean of Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies at Renmin University of China (RDCY), pointed out that in the face of the challenges posed by de-globalization, China can play a role in curbing this trend from moving in a worse direction. He mentioned that China is actively promoting outbound investment. Currently, China’s outbound investment accounts for 15% of the global total, but this proportion is still relatively small. More Chinese companies need to expand internationally, Wang added.
